Holder

Artificial teeth are initially arranged on gypsum casts with wax sheets, which leave greasy residues that weaken the bond between teeth and acrylic bases. The Holder is a simple device designed to detach teeth from wax and organize them in separate cavities. The teeth are then cleaned with hot water or compressed hot air to remove wax and grease (dewaxing), preparing them for flasking. For improved bonding strength, technicians may also create retention grooves on the tooth base using carbide burs.
