Atra LAY Pattern Resin

AtraLAY is a self-curing pattern resin which includes an acrylic powder and a liquid (monomer). Its low shrinkage provides perfect adaptation and accurate reproduction.

In application, the powder and liquid are mixed in appropriate ratios and used for molding and making patterns. Mixing of the powder and the liquid provides a formable paste which will get rigid and keep its shape after it is applied on the intended place. The mold is then fabricated using this pattern

Applications

AtraLAY resin can be used in different patterning procedures e.g. brush and implant techniques. Among other applications of this resin, we can name:

  • Making inlays, onlays and Maryland bridges
  • Modeling of bars and clasps in partial dentures
  • Making jig and core in implant technique
  • Splinting for soldering procedure

Instruction for use in Brush technique

Dispense appropriate amounts of the powder and liquid into the separate silicone cups which are provided with Atra LAY.

Wet the brush with the liquid and take the excess liquid from the brush by pushing it against the inner wall of the cup. Then dip the brush into the powder and pick up a small amount of AtraLAY powder. At this stage the powder and the liquid are mixed and form a paste on the tip of the brush. Apply this paste on the intended place (root canal, crown, etc.) and repeat the procedure to form the desired pattern. Working time will be 2 to 3 minutes and the setting time is about 4 to 5 minutes.

AtraLAY become rigid after polymerization. You may then trim it using appropriate tools.

The molded pattern is now ready to be used for the further laboratory operations (molding, casting, etc.)

Storage conditions

Keep AtraLAY at room temperature and away from direct sunlight. Keeping the liquid (monomer) in refrigerator increases its shelf life.

Keep the powder and liquid containers

closed after use.

Do not use AtraLAY after expiration
